Playstation 3 Eject Disk

 admin

I have a Playstation 3 slim (120 gb) CECH 2003A (known for being 'faulty') The console turns on and works fine besides 3 things. 1) Doesn't insert or eject disks. (Meaning the PS3 isn't 'sucking' in the disks) 2) Doesn't spin the disk once its in. 3) This one is obvious, the PS3 doesn't read any DVD or Blu-ray disks. I've tried to resolve the issue by Cleaning the lens, checking all the cables are in correctly.

Playstation 3 Eject Disk

Nothing has worked. Whenever I do get a CD in.

The Blu ray drive does get the CD in position but it just doesn't spin. It makes a few clicking noises for about 20 seconds and then stops again. Body by science mcguff pdf to word list. Lastly, I'd like to mention that demos on the HDD work perfectly. I found a YouTube video of my problem; If anyone has had this problem and solved it or if anyone has any clues on how to fix it then please let me know.

I think its ur magnet ill look up a link after im done eating. It shouldn't have anything to do with that, the sensor and gears should work without a deck and a lens.

If you are sure that the sensor and the 8 pin ribbon cable it's ok on both ends. Then you have a fried pcb.

I had the same problem with a pcb from a fat ps3, it would not send power to the motor to suck the disc in. Take out just the sensor, plug it in ps3, open the ps3 and do this be careful not to short circuit the board. You should get the blue led and the motor to spin.

If you get the blue led but the motor doesn't spin then you have a problem with the pcb. If you don't even get the blue led then it's a sensor problem.

This happened to me a few months back and there IS a way to get your disk out without taking it apart on a launch unit. It sounds a little silly but you can flip the unit on its backside and take a blow dryer to the back vent for about 10 min strait. Let it cool down and the system will turn on for a few moments allowing you to get your disk out. For some people it will stay on longer allowing them to get their un backed up saves but this wasn't the case for me. Here is a youtube link to show you: I followed this video to a tee and it allowed me to get my Uncharted 3 game out.
